The famous Dracula’s Castle is situated close to 200km away from Bucharest. It would roughly take about 2 hours and 40 minutes to reach there if you drive or take a taxi.

There are five ways to get from Bucharest to Bran Castle.

  • Driving to Bran Castle.
    It takes close to 3 hours to drive from Bucharest to Bran Castle. The major advantage of driving there is that you are not constrained by time. Thus, you are able to enjoy sightseeing around the castle freely.

 

  • Taking a train from Bucharest to Bran Castle.
    You can take the Brașov train route from the North Railway Station in Bucharest. The train journey would take around 3.5 hours. From there you must take a short bus or taxi ride to Bran Castle. This method of transportation is considerably cheap and you are also able to enjoy the beauty all around.

 

  • Taking the bus from Bucharest to Bran Castle.
    The bus journey from Bucharest to Bran Castle takes about 5 - 6 hours. There are seven bus services that operate weekly to Bran Castle from Bucharest. However, the schedules may vary during the weekend and holidays.

 

  • Taking a taxi from Bucharest to Bran Castle.
    This is one of the fastest ways of getting to Bran Castle from Bucharest. The drive would take close to 3 hours, similar to driving there. The major advantage of taking a taxi is that you are able to manage your own time and not be restricted by it. However, it should be noted that this is one of the more expensive methods of transportation from Bucharest to Bran Castle.

  • Keep in mind that the balcony views are the best.
  • Try to avoid visiting during summer as there will be giant crowds during this time.
